Overnight oats are the perfect breakfast for early mornings when prepared the night before. They really are a lifesaver for those that are short of time and will provide you with plenty of energy for the day ahead. While the recipe below is for basic overnight oats it is really easy to mix things up, simply throw in some of your favourite fruit, nuts and flavourings to find a flavour you love.
To make you will need:
½ cup of oatmeal
1 cup of your favourite milk
1 ripe banana
1 tsp. of vanilla
1 tbsp. of chia or flax seed
Mash the banana with a fork and add it into a cup, jar or bowl of your choice along with the rest of the ingredients. Stir well and leave to thicken in the fridge overnight.
Serve with a handful of fresh berries, chopped nuts or your favourite toppings!
