A new study involving over 60,000 people has shown that these 3 simple steps help keep the weight off:
- Eat slowly
- Don’t eat after dinner snacks
- Don’t eat within 2 hours of bed
The study found that changes in these eating habits were strongly associated with lower obesity and weight (BMI), and a smaller waist circumference.
On the other hand, the researchers found that skipping breakfast was not associated with any changes in BMI.
Instead of skipping breakfast, you’re much better off balancing your blood sugar levels for the day ahead with some healthy fats and protein, such as eggs and avocado.
Lastly, don’t forget that a lack of sleep can profoundly influence your weight. Not only are you much more likely to make unhealthy food choices when you’re tired, sleep also helps weight loss by regulating the function of hormones that directly correlate to appetite and mood.
