Your personal vitamin D dosage is based on a set of averages and estimates which should only be used as an approximation rather than an accurate quantity as there are several limitations to this calculator. These are guidelines only and may not be an accurate representation of your vitamin and mineral levels. In accordance with NHS guidelines do not take more than 100 micrograms (4,000 IU) of vitamin D a day as it could be harmful. This applies to adults, including pregnant and breastfeeding women and the elderly, and children aged 11 to 17 years. Supplements should not be used to replace a healthy diet. Always contact a GP or medical professional for advice.
