International Women’s Day

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

It started as early as 1911 with only a couple of countries taking part and rallying for women’s rights to work, vote, hold public office and end discrimination. Thankfully, times have moved on for the better. The campaign theme this year is #breakthebias, relating to the bias that women face which prevents them from moving forward.

What better way to celebrate International women’s day than by putting our all-female team of experts front and centre!

Meet the team behind your personal recommendations to help you live an optimal lifestyle:

Monal Wadhera, Medical Director

Monal completed her medical degree from Imperial College at St Mary’s. She is passionate about digital health and lifestyle medicine and has worked with Public Health England to improve the understanding of the importance of physical activity. Her goal is to provide personalised medicine and empower people to improve their health by living healthier, happier lives.

When she isn’t reviewing and advising on customers’ blood results, she can be found running after her young daughter and taking walks around the beautiful southwest.

Monika Mozere, Expert Geneticist

Monika received her MSc and PhD in genetics & bioinformatics from University College London (UCL) in 2016. Since then, she has continued to work in academia and joined Vitl in 2018 as our in-house geneticist.

Monika is very passionate about nutrition and active healthy living. She strongly believes that genetics is not a destiny, but rather a tool that could be used to live your life to the full.

Her free time is mostly spent playing with her daughter and exploring nearby forests with her dog.

Christina Mamada, Nutrition Associate

Christina received her Bachelor’s in Biology in 2018, and in 2019 she completed her Master’s in Nutrition at King’s College London. What drew her to Vitl is the chance to combine her two passions; genetics and nutrition! On weekends, you will most likely find her at the beach, as she is testing the benefits of winter swimming herself.

Roxane Bakker, Registered Dietitian

Roxane completed a bachelor's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics in 2017. She has a strong passion for health and a firm belief that optimal wellbeing starts with the correct nutrition.

Other than attempting to live life to the fullest (and healthiest) she can be found climbing boulders and getting excited about the latest nutrition research or diet!
